Our Herd
We have a herd
of over 75 +/- full blood &
percentage Boer Goats. We have
30 fullblood and purebred boer does (including 6 full CODI/PCI does ). Our
14 percentage Boer Goats are
primarily Nubian/Boer crosses.
We
retain several doelings
each year for replacement does and
show stock. Our percentage
bucks are wethered and dehorned to
meet the show wether demand.
Occasionally, we will sell an
outstanding percentage buck kid as a
commercial buck. We keep only
our best fullblood buck kids as bucks (about
10-15%) as we believe it is very
important to put only the best bucks
in the gene pool.

meets your needs and our criteria to remain a buck.
All of
our Boer breeding stock is registered
with ABGA and a few are dual
registered with the USBGA and IBGA.
Purchase of any kid includes
the ABGA registration papers in hand when
the kids are picked up.
We do not sell on application to
register. We have also
accumulated a herd of 15 dairy
does, all
registered with the ADGA.
We have 10 Nubians, 4 Alpines and 1 LaMancha. We did not intend to breed
dairy goats, but we have been asked
by many Boer buyers if we had any
Nubians for sale, we have decided to
breed most of our first time kidders
to our purebred black and spotted
Nubian buck. So we will
occasionally have a few registered
Nubians for sale. Only one of
the Alpine does is breeding age, so
we will see what we are doing with
them in the next year. We
breed most of the Nubians to our
fullblood Boers to get
large framed percentage kids.
We have two fullblood
Boer bucks
here at Deer Haven Farms. Our
senior herd sire is a full CODI/PCI
DGBG CODI Bandit bred by David
and Debbie Gilliam of
Gilliam Boer Goats in Walland,
TN. Bandit has sired outstanding kids
and we are certain he will influence
our herd for many years to come.
He is a non-traditional buck and has
thrown several solid red kids out of
traditional does. Bandit is
also two teated and has done a great
job in cleaning up some of the
"problem teated" does in our herd.
He also throws 75-80% does. We
collected him this fall and got 100
straws. Please

Reliable Genetics if you are
interested in some semen from
Bandit. The price is $30/straw
or 4 straws for $100.
Our Junior Herdsire is
Ash Creek Night Cap owned in partnership with
Star-E-Ranch. We used him on two does this year. His first kids
hit the ground on the 11th of February and they are outstanding! We
are expecting great things from this buck. Look for him at shows this
year. We are also retaining a solid black purebred son of Bandit (DHFK
Illusion) this year to use on some of our percentage colored stock. We
recently purchased a Bingo Superman son out of a Bingo daughter. This
young paint buck (DGBG Double Jeopardy) will be used in our colored program
and to improve the neck and head on some of our does.
We are very
pleased with the quality of kids we
have produced over the past two years and have an
outstanding group of kids available
for sale from our winter and spring kiddings. If you check out our Breeding
